This 66lbs curling stone, 'Black Meg', was previously owned by the Coupar Angus and Kettins Curling Club. Tracing its origins to 1749, the club is one of the oldest in Scotland. Possibly imported by Dutch merchants, curling is likely to have become popular from the 16th century.

This is the only surviving example of a Glover's Dance Dress, typical of the elaborate sorts of civic performance costume dating back to the medieval period across Europe's towns
& cities. This example was worn in 1633 for the river dance performed for Charles I's visit
to Perth.
