Like many tumors, if diagnosed at an early stage, it is cured by appendectomy. The same tumor at high stage can progress to pseudomyxoma. Using different names at different stages would be confusing. Mucocele is a gross term for dilated appendix filled with mucin

Mandible cyst and numb lip. Radiological mimic of dentigerous cyst, histologically resembles mucoepidermoid ca but MAML2 neg. This is glandular odontogenic cyst, rare and locally aggressive with up to 50% recurrence depending on initial treatment. Thanks to Ali Khurram for advice!

2/3. knew
Twas a benign growth that grew…
From sinus to back of throat, where it did reside.
Its stellate stroma bizarre but benign,
Joanna’s polyp was giving her jip, and
Eosinophils lacking seemed not a classical SNIP…

Adrenal gland, 24h in formalin. The yellow color is highly indicative of a pheochromocytoma. Prof. Lars Grimelius showed me this trick when I was a resident. Always satisfying to semi-diagnose something before cutting it up.

Adult with enlarged level III lymph node. I failed miserably to make a diagnosis on this core biopsy. 🙄

I suspected the final diagnosis, but was let down by the IHC (that's my excuse, anyway).

As usual, what are the differentials and what IHC would you want to see?
