Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit: Today, Agriculture Minister Hon. Frank K Tumwebaze,MP: Isaiah 41: 11 is representing H.E Yoweri K Museveni at the #AFSH24 hosted by President William Samoei Ruto, PhD of Kenya, in Nairobi.

Congratulations to African Union & H E William Samoei Ruto, PhD on hosting a successful Fertilizer Summit #AFSH24 . As Uganda the chair of STC of African Union , we commit to champion & pursue the objects of the Nairobi Declaration.

Together with Frank K Tumwebaze,MP: Isaiah 41: 11 we handed over 900,000 doses of Foot and Mouth Vaccines to 23 Districts in the high risk areas

MAAIF 🇺🇬 also handed over 230 refrigerators to help store the vaccines

MAAIF 🇺🇬 is currently procuring 10 million doses of FMD vaccines.

ATESO Xpert MAAIF 🇺🇬 Maj. Gen. (Rtd) David Kasura-Kyomukama 28 tractors were sent to all the 28 districts of lango, Acholi and west Nile. Meaning 1 big tractor per district. 340 walking tractors were at the same time given for all subcounties of the 28 districts .

The district leaders and their MPs selected the beneficiary groups .

Glad this afternoon to have kicked off distribution of FMD vaccines..

We hope to give out a total of 9m doses to all affected districts by mid June.

I appeal to all district leaders ( political & technical) to cooperate & monitor this exercise of vaccine administration

This kind of support is the main outcome of recruitment and introduction of Senior level Agricultural Engineers at District level.

Their input is not only supplementing extension work but also increasing awareness about irrigation-related services for our farmers.
