.Iberdrola has set out record plans to invest £8bn+ in the UK’s electricity networks and renewable power over the next 3 years.

That’s more than in Spain, Germany, France and Australia combined.

Global investors are backing Britain. iberdrola.com/press-room/new…

Very proud to announce Solar Energy UK's latest and biggest survey yet of biodiversity on solar farms. It demonstrates how action on nature and carbon reduction can go hand in hand - and also features some awesome photos. solarenergyuk.org/news/wildlife-…

Some additional context to this @telegraph piece:
- Labour ambition is 100% clean power by 2030
- Conservative ambition is 95% clean power by 2030

this is not a culture war (sorry)

both Tory & Lab plans require rapid rollout of renewables & grid infrastructure.

Some great polling from ECIU 71% of the public support new onshore wind farms in their local area, as opposed to almost half of MPs (47%) *thought* their constituents would oppose ⚡️

Really does show that the public view on has significantly shifted and

I tabled an amendment to the Energy Bill that could have reduced methane emissions by 72%.

The government voted it down.

Methane has 80x the warming effect of CO2 - yet the Conservatives are treating our planet like it's expendable.

It is unforgivable.

Confirmation today (no surprises) that the UK outperformed its third carbon budget (CB3).

Under the Act, we are duty bound to offer advice on the handling of any ‘surplus’.

Our analysis and advice to Government will be published on 28th February.
