1) Anti-immigration accounts posting horrific story of pregnant woman in Sweden murdered by partner in what prosecutors suspect could be an 'honor killing.' Reactions from followers, esp. to description of victim as 'Swedish,' say a lot about the rhetoric of 'protecting women.'

I have been unfollowing a bunch of people so I can leave here.

You can call sharing graphic images of dead/dying people in Moscow 'in the public interest' and 'newsworthy' all you want, but it's nothing more than cheap voyeurism that does PR for the people who planned it and invades the dignity and privacy of those who died & their families.

3 women in Sweden were murdered last week by men they had a relationship with. From 2014-23 there were 411 deaths in Europe from Islamic terrorism. In 2021 alone, 2,500 women in Europe were murdered by intimate partners/family. Media give one huge coverage, the other bypassed.

Amazing number of people who think the only places in Britain where there is virulent homophobia are those with lots of Muslims.

200m+ (55%) in EU identify as Catholic/Orthodox. Both, w/significant influence in many nations, ban women from all positions of power & all-male church leadership restricts women's reproductive rights. Yet, we're told it's Muslims who reject 'European values of gender equality.'

These are just the two most recent examples of enabling anti-Muslim hatred in the Conservative party.

In recent months we’ve seen a terrifying spike in hate towards Jewish and Muslim communities.

Racism is racism. There should be no hierarchy.

Now, more than ever, we should be seeking to bring our country together. There must be zero tolerance for the politics of division.
