Australia’s R&D system is broken, outdated, incoherent and underfunded. In an op-ed in The The Australian today, Academy President Professor Chennupati Jagadish AC PresAA FREng FTSE calls for a cross-portfolio, cross-sectorial review to inform a 10-year roadmap for R&D.
🎂 This week 70 years ago, the Academy was founded. It was granted a Royal Charter establishing the Academy as an independent body with government endorsement. At our #ScienceJourney event tomorrow, a ceremony at the The Shine Dome will kick off the year-long celebrations.
Our latest insights on #plasma engineering of bio-instructive surfaces are published today in Applied Physics Reviews. A sincere thanks to Chennupati Jagadish for the invitation, and to my co-authors for their hard work over the past 2 years! Uni Newcastle Research Sydney Nano
