The Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl TD in his opening address at this Symposium when speaking about the lack of diversity in politics, highlighted the need to improve the numbers of Travellers, migrants and people from poorer social-economic backgrounds.
We are looking for a project consultant for the More Traveller Women project we are rolling out with National Traveller Women’s Forum. This is a very exciting opportunity to contribute great change to Irish politics.
Deadline is the 19th of September.

Two years myself and an Autistic Mincéir designed this symbol to show Autistic Mincéir that they were loved and wanted. I know one day soon you will rise and we will hear your voice.

Excellent launch of important research: ethnic minority women & local politics.
Given the scale of the challenges - clear role that adult & #communityeducation can play in supporting the recommendations.

Anne Waithira Burke calls for quotas at launch of Maynooth University research report Different Paths, Shared Experiences: Ethnic Minority Women and Local Politics in Ireland. 'It is high time our representatives and put these recommendations in place for the future.'

Great to hear Roderic O’Gorman TD launch the National Traveller Women’s Forum AkiDwA research Different Paths, Shared Experiences to promote inclusion of ethnic minority women in politics.
It is way past time political parties started to invest in Traveller women and all marginalised women.
#DifferentPaths
Really interesting hearing the difficult first hand experience of ethnic minority women who have run for election in Ireland.
More support needed in terms of training, support and finance as well as a ‘nested quota’.
Stronger hate laws key for stopping abuse.

This morning we’re attending the launch of Different Paths, Shared Experiences: Minoritised Women and Local Politics in Ireland from National Traveller Women’s Forum and AkiDwA
Incredibly important recommendations coming forward about supporting Traveller, Roma and Migrant women to run for election.
