Rhetoric around ‘sick note culture’ does not match the reality of our social security system, and the importance of supportive relationships with GPs to those struggling with work due to their health.

Social security should be the safety net to catch any of us when we need. Sometimes it’s needed long term, others temporary, bringing value to all of us.

Creating a culture of fear, stigma & shame, alongside villainising those who need support is the antithesis of this.

Deeply moving. Thank you Jen for sharing your experience. She highlights 30% of 10–19 yr olds that die by suicide, do so without any indication of distress.

Our local community is grappling with the loss of a young person in this way. We need to keep talking about this.
