I hope all of you are just excited as me. It's so amazing to reveal an intimate relationship between fungus and plant in front of your eyes. And the cooperation of digestion are just eye(prey)-catching!

We isolated the fungus and sequenced its genome. It is grouped with extremophilic fungi capable of living in very harsh (acidic/sality) conditions. But it also lost CAZymes akins to symbiotic life style.

I am really excited to report one of the most exciting findings that we found!! 🌿Summary: we identified a fungus that is ecologically dominant and lives on the stalk gland of sundew! And the fungus facilitates its prey digestion!!!
