When access is difficult or there is a desire to use a neuroprotection strategy for intracranial neurovascular procedures, we have found off-label use of Silk Road Medical's Open Transcarotid System to be invaluable.

Check out our Yale experience!

These data help establish a new, comprehensive procedural benchmark, FPE30, that may better represent the ideal of fast, complete reperfusion with a single pass of a thrombectomy device.

So proud of Andrew Koo for his leadership on seeing this project through to fruition.

Great work from Kevin Sheth's lab exploring the integration of clinical information and a deep learning algorithm on intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) detection using the Swoop Portable MR Imaging System (Hyperfine). Beautiful work from the wards of Yale-New Haven Hospital ...

Inspiring conversation with Dr. Charles Matouk of Yale Department of Neurosurgery on lessons from transcarotid artery revascularization for thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke. Neurosurgeons used to routinely use transcarotid approach, what’s old is new again

I'm a big believer in the value of frailty in risk stratification for the treatment of neurological disease. Our most recent study shows that frailty is an independent predictor of adverse events and thirty-day hospital readmission.

In neurovascular surgery -- open or endovascular -- treatment options can be categorized as 'reconstructive' or 'deconstructive.' Deconstruction — where the parent vessel is sacrificed to treat the pathology — is still a great tool in the toolbox.
