In October 2020, Francis Collins labeled me, Harvard prof. Martin Kulldorff, and Oxford prof. Sunetra Gupta 'fringe epidemiologists' for opposing lockdowns and school closures. He embraced and recommended 'social distancing' on the basis of nothing.

Yeah, we already know that the COVID response was not guided by data. But it's worse than that. They also tried to silence and demonize anyone that tried to speak up about it. Lives were ruined for a narrative.

I wonder if the The Washington Post regrets publishing this bit of anti-science invective in Dec. 2020. Thinking like this pushed harmful school closures and other destructive policies into 2021 and beyond. Neither then nor now did we have the technology to get to zero covid.
