1 hour total is enough. My kids keep receiving homework that takes 2+ hours to complete. They have 6-7 classes. They're expected to do homework AND study. It's causing them to hate school.

I dare you to ask your students this question: Is there anything in my class or in our school that does not work for you? Can you tell me more about what you believe works and does not work so I can see if we can fix it?

Without cultural self-awareness, eudcation becomes nothing more than culture transfer – you transferring your culture to your students.

Growing up, I did not learn how to handle conflict constructively. Where I’m from, people often handled disagreements with violence. Teach your students how to handle anger.

Most of the people who influenced me the most didn't create a new system; they worked within 'the system.' Friend, the system within which you work might be flawed, but it can still be changed by your presence, by your voice, by your influence. Don't give up.
