Civil society organizations play an essential role in safeguarding democracy and rule of law in Europe. I was happy to discuss the importance of a vibrant civil society in 🇪🇺 and 🇭🇺 with Márta Pardavi of Hungarian Helsinki Committee in Oslo today.

I am so relieved by the long awaited US House approval of a much needed aid package for Ukraine.

We all need to step up to turn things around and make sure Ukraine wins this war.

This is existential for Ukraine, but also decisive for the security of the whole of Europe.

Proud to announce with Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський in Kyiv today that Norway and Ukraine have concluded negotiations on a bilateral Agreement on Security Assurances.

Norway will #StandWithUkraine , as we have done since Russia's brutal aggression began.

Deeply worried by developments in the Middle East over night. Norway condems Iran’s illegal and dangerous attack on Israel. Further escalation must be prevented. We call on all parties to exercise maximum constraint.
