Morning-This is what Don Topley (Toppers) is making ref to. Recommendation 40 is about reducing County Age-Group representation.

By definition it will reduce the standards & opportunities for high ability cricketers & this, hold them back. ECB need to try & give opportunities for all!

Worked at the coalface giving kids opportunities to play the game at rec level & at Rep County Level with MCCF Cricket for 24years.

ICEC report may have some good points but Rec No40 will have huge consequences & will do damage to our game. Coaches at the coalface agree! 👎 Sad!

Great to see Liam Livingstone & Reece Topley playing in the Caribbean t20s and the pair have had some impact in reversing the 0-2 results down, in the Series, to 2-2.

Liam with the bat but Reece has played in the last 2 wins & makes England look a much better side when he plays!

Well Don Topley (Toppers) has been about and across India with this World Cup. So lovely to see he came across a good number of MCCF Cricket parents whilst travelling in India.

We know he loves catching up with the former young cricketers, current players and their important parents.

Just so sad to hear Reece Topley is returning home from the ICC World Cup in India, having sustained a broken index finger in his bowling hand. He has been our stand-out bowler so far & returned to bowl after injections-couldn’t feel the ball in hand. Terrific effort that!

So sorry to hear!

Superb news for two former MCCF Cricketers: Liam played for Cumbria and Reece represented Suffolk in their early age-groups.

5th Oct is England’s first WCup game v NZ.
