One of NU NTD Drug Disc. labs talented #undergrads was awarded the American Institute Chemistry student award! This award recognizes Lydia Steger-Wilson's record of leadership and scholarly achievement. To top it off, she accepted a PhD position UW–Madison, congratulations! Northeastern Chem👏

Couldn't be happier to hear that Bruna defended her MSc thesis today! She came to us from Flavio Emery lab USP - Universidade de São Paulo. Australia produces 10,000 PhDs a year, and there are currently 47,000 academic jobs in total.
Not everyone wants a PhD so they can become an academic, but many do. This is a good piece about how we got to this stage and raises questions about reforms.
