'The challenges ahead are so significant, and we're not going to meet them by trying to make Evanston great again,' Biss said. 'We are going to meet them by together envisioning an Evanston we haven't seen before.'

A number of groups, including the ADL, have called on Schill to resign in the wake of last week’s agreement to end the encampment.

Northwestern President Michael Schill will testify before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce on May 23, the committee’s chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) announced today.

He’ll testify alongside the presidents of Rutgers and UCLA.

Seven members of the recently-formed committee resigned earlier today.

Former presidential candidate Nikki Haley criticizes Northwestern’s agreement with encampment negotiators, which includes full scholarships for five Palestinian students each year.

“Breaking the rules does not entitle you to a free ride,” Haley says.

One of the presidents of NU’s Students for Justice in Palestine says they have been called a “sellout Palestinian” for backing the agreement which ended the encampment.

They defended the deal with NU, calling it “historical.” They also called for solidarity during this time.
