Discussion also covered support to Ukraine, arms acquisitions & expediting US deliveries to Lithuania.

🇱🇹🇺🇸 The recent delivery of JAVELIN missiles from the US exemplifies another instance of our cooperation in acquisitions. More than 20% of Lithuania's new military gear comes from the US. Having JAVELIN systems is especially crucial given the challenging geopolitical landscape.

🇱🇹 Lithuanian_Armed_Forces is conducting a large-scale exercise 'Vigilant Falcon 2024' to test the readiness of its soldiers for various defence scenarios.

The exercise covers a wide range of tasks, from intercepting individual intruders to protecting the airspace from hostile aircraft.

🇱🇹 Lithuanian_Armed_Forces has received additional reserves of JAVELIN anti-tank missiles from the US this week, worth about $16.6 million.

🇺🇸 JAVELIN anti-tank system significantly boosts our long-term military capabilities and strengthens deterrence efforts.

Today, 🇱🇹DefMin Laurynas Kasčiūnas met with 🇮🇱Israeli Ambassador Hadas Wittenberg Silverstein . They agreed to renew 🇱🇹-🇮🇱 bilateral consultations, strengthen our academic & cybersecurity cooperation. Possible ways to promote collaboration between our defence industries also were discussed.

🇱🇹Lithuanian_Armed_Forces, alongside US Marines, made history today as they conducted the first live-fire shooting with HIMARS in Lithuania. This exercise, part of #SwiftResponse24 within #SteadfastDefender24 , provided crucial training for our troops, as we await the arrival of our own HIMARS.

Today, 🇱🇹DefMin Laurynas Kasčiūnas met with 🇵🇱Konstanty Radziwiłł, Ambassador of Poland, to discuss defence policy priorities and the need for increased defence funding. They also addressed current bilateral security and defence cooperation issues, paving the way for further progress.

🇱🇹Lithuanian_Armed_Forces is ready to ensure the defence of our country. In recent days, Lithuania is training its procedures to smoothly transition from peace to wartime, involving all state institutions & Allied forces. Over 8000 Lithuanian troops are participating in these training efforts.

We remember. Viceminister Žilvinas Tomkus participates in the wreath laying ceremony marking the Commemoration Day of the Victims of the Second World War. Also laying flowers to pay respects to those who fought for Ukraine's freedom, forever remembering their sacrifices.
