Today we welcome Floortje Hoette, our first chief executive officer, to the team.

With more than 25 years’ project management experience in the not-for-profit and commercial sectors, Floortje is well positioned to lead us towards re-opening the lift in 2025.

Last night Leas Lift trustee James Walker-Osborn delivered a talk on the history and future of the lift to Ladies Unlimited - so-called due to their unlimited interests - in Deal.

They very kindly made a donation to our fundraising appeal which is ongoing. Thank you, ladies! 👏

We've been out and about inspiring students about the career opportunities available once the lift is operational.

The The Marsh Academy Inspires event was attended by some 700 students - many of them didn't know anything about the lift so it generated some really great conversation

Our community engagement co-ordinator Amanda Beckett has been leading 'walk and talks' with pupils from St Eanswythe's CE Primary School.

They discussed all aspects of the Lift and each pupil got a ticket to take away with them 🎟️

This week we held a memory cafe at Glendale, retirement housing in Folkestone, where residents shared their personal stories of the Lift and the surrounding area.

We've appointed a new trustee!

Rachel Knight of Maxim has almost 25 years’ communications experience.

She'll provide the Leas Lift with media relations, social media and marketing advice on a pro bono basis.
