A 2018 BBC interview propelled the pan-African creative team of Kugali Media into a collaboration with Disney. The result? 'Iwájú,' a six-episode animated series set in a futuristic Lagos.

Entertainment company creatives at Kugali joked that their business was going to 'kick Disney's a--,' but instead Kugali joined Disney and collaborated on the media giant's first African series, 'Iwájú.'

Kugali's goal is to tell stories inspired by African culture.
