Just another observation: #Defiance is an incredibly important documentary brilliantly made: it's emotional & traumatic fueling anger & frustration but also a catalyst for conversation & activism. All of us can play a role in documenting & telling our stories to the wider world.

There are more stories: about women who were on the frontline & those like my mother, Jasvir Kang who used art as a form of activism. It was a pleasure to meet Rajesh Thind & catch up with friends. My daughter was in the audience listening & learning: the future of activism. 3/3

Tonights screening of #Defiance with Q & A exposed many stories, themes & provocations. I often speak about erased histories: South Asians who fought racism & those who died in racist attacks. Struggles as well as systems that uphold racist structures were covered tonight. 1/3

A packed multigenerational crowd with many activists & their families Midlands Arts Centre (MAC), united by a commitment to anti-racism. Thank you so much🙏🏽

Be clear on what’s happening here: our country is supplying the arms being used to bomb men, women and children living in tents! We are supplying the arms. We are withholding the aid from those being cleansed and supplying advanced weaponry to those doing the cleansing! WTAF!!!
