Spent an absolutely wonderful day with Andrew Millham by the Thames Estuary. It’s a remarkable landscape, rich in history, culture and biodiversity, and Andrew has an extensive knowledge of it. At Two Tree Island we heard a Nightingale - I’m happy to be corrected if it isn’t!
During the Regent’s Canal walk last week, London Wildlife Trust CEO David Mooney and I walked the Canal between Camden and King’s Cross.
Here he shares how donations have helped the Trust achieve so much. Please support them and Wild Justice by donating here: givewheel.com/fundraising/25…
Penultimate visit on my SW tour this week - a welcome return to the Cannwood rewilding site in NE Somerset. Home to the irrepressible Ben Goldsmith. Wonderful beavery wetlands, heaving with warblers and hirundines. What’s more it’s inspiring many others locally to restore nature.
Had a wonderful time catching up with Chris Gannaway and his wife Margaret in Redbridge earlier this week. It was also lovely to meet conservationists Tajinder, Raymond and Tim Harris. I learned tree ID in Claybury Woods, saw bluebells in Wanstead and Skylarks in Hainault!
Please join us in London on 22 June to ask all political parties to #RestoreNatureNow .
The day will be family friendly, it'll be fun, it'll be peaceful & positive, but the message will be serious.
Political promises aren't enough, it's time for action.

The level of stupidity & ignorance displayed by Luke Johnson is staggering. This kind of denial & nonsensical rhetoric serves no purpose in a balanced debate. We have to make lying wrong again. As ever, well done Chris Packham for communicating the truth.
