We pause to remember one of the most important and deadly battles in Canadian military history.

At Veterans Affairs CA's Visitor Education Centre at Vimy, they are recognizing #WW2 veterans for #DDay80 , including some familiar names. 🙏 #Juno80

It is always deadful to hear about the loss of one of our Canadian Armed Forces members, no matter the circumstances. And this officer from a D-Day regiment, so close to the 80th anniversary. Rest in peace, Captain Thomas.

🍁 At 22 years old, Lieutenant Hugh Baldwin Hall survived D-Day and earned a Military Cross in the Normandy Campaign. Hall is one of 3,727 Canadians to have received the medal since the decoration’s inception. To learn more ➡️ bit.ly/3J43E7Q

The Centre pays tribute to the approx. 18,000 airmen and women who gave their lives in the Second World War.

Today is Veteran Albert Roy's 100th birthday! 🎉

He served in the #SWW with the 8th Canadian Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment. His unit fought in the Battle of Normandy that took place 80 years ago this summer.
