Really good day in Bristol meeting friends and visiting Clifton Suspension Bridge & Bristol Museum & Art Gallery. Clifton Suspension Bridge is seriously impressive; and visitor centre tells the story behind it - design competition, fund raising, delays. Only completed after Brunel's death.

Very much enjoyed visiting Cheddar Gorge & Caves near Bristol. Good circular walk. I think the Gorge wants to be more like Glencoe when it grows up!

Hugely impressive collection of aircraft RAF Museum Cosford, near Birmingham. World War 1, 2, and more recent planes, missiles, rockets. Whole section on Cold War. More information than would fit inside my head!

Great to have couple of days in English Lake District, especially Windermere, Grasmere, and Ambleside. Impressed by Windermere Jetty Museum Museum, including one boat built in Rutherglen.

Thanks ScotRail for a great day out to Mallaig. Really enjoyed the train trip, scenery, food and coffee at Mallaig (although none on the train 😒).

Appreciated meeting with Scottish POA to hear about their #68IsTooLate campaign. I do not understand why prison officers cannot retire until age 68 while police and fire staff retire younger. I would not want to be doing such a physical and demanding job aged 68!

Good to have Royal Mail in Parliament today to discuss Universal Service Obligation & other issues MSPs want to raise. Important there continues to be consistent service throughout whole country. More parcels but fewer letters nowadays. Should frequency of deliveries be changed?
