As podcasts get ever-more ad heavy, this data gives food for thought as to whether it’s the right trajectory.

Interesting to see this. I also concur - Apple Music has been nice through my trial (I like the radio shows), but YT Music is a better experience for me (and, of course, also kills the ads in YouTube).

We prob had the biggest dataset with this info: we had millions of trips where we knew both which app was used and how long they took

. BBC News (UK) has a news app for overseas users. This is their “General Election” section this morning. Two local coverage box-ticking pieces, and a poll tracker. Stories ordered by publish time, not newsworthiness.

This is a poor, poor experience from the UK’s broadcaster.
