The quality of opposition is staggeringly poor in Brighton and Hove. There are exceptions, but overall the scrutiny is shallow with attempts at “gotcha’s”

I’d say I hope they get better over time but some of them have been on Brighton and Hove council longer than my lifetime…

The Barbican Centre in London is a famous example of Brutalist architecture.

The coarse concrete surfaces of its 3 towers and 13 terrace blocks were built between 1965 and 1976 on a bomb-ravaged site.

Housing lead & deputy leader Cllr Gill Williams says despite the financial crisis, we are:

✅ investing £58m to improve the quality of housing
✅ providing 1000 council homes with solar panels to alleviate fuel poverty
✅ building/purchasing 280 new council homes this year alone
