Wandsworth Prison issued Urgent Notification - comes after Channel 4 News reveals ‘horrific’ conditions

The Chief Inspector of Prisons has issued an Urgent Notification for improvement “following a deeply concerning inspection of Wandsworth prison.'

Yesterday, Charlie Taylor wrote to the Secretary of State for Justice Alex Chalk KC MP to invoke the Urgent Notification process following our unannounced inspection of HMP Wandsworth between 22nd April and 2nd May 2024.

HMP Chelmsford: safer and more productive, but fifth highest level of self-harm in the adult male estate at the time of inspection.
