I make an effort to explain the #scienceofreading #sor (but really, it’s just science!) … but Sharon Vaughn clarifies many misconceptions about the science probably better than anyone: misconception number 1: we understand and implement” evidence-based reading instruction.

There has not been enough discussion of the “when” of decodables. They are an important 1st step, a foundation to reading w:basic phonics. They should not be over prescribed/used in more ways than necessary, or we’ll have another SOR debacle the size of the PA misunderstanding
