Pamber Forest Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve is starting to see lots of spring wildlife appear. From frogs and toads croaking in the ponds, to adders and slow worms basking in the sun and huge colonies of wood ants working very hard!

Back in February our Northern Estate team spent a day at one of our sanctuary sites for wildlife clearing scrub from the chalk grassland. By removing the blackthorn and hawthorn from the open areas we are improving the habitat for summer invertebrates and flora 🌱 πŸ¦‹ 🌿

Last month, our marine team were out completing the first seagrass surveys of 2024. They recorded positive signs of growth of Zostera noltei and Zostera marina. The meadows will be monitored throughout the Spring to help inform our next phase of seagrass restoration work 🌱
