Our Nursery recently held its Open Doors for Learning event, which invited parents into the nursery to explore all the learning which has taken place this year.
A great chance for parents to look at plans, boards, floor books and photos, and chat to staff and other families! 🤩

Well done to our girls 1st XI hockey team who put in a great performance in a tightly contested Scottish Schools Senior Plate competition final.
The girls had plenty of the ball and created a number of chances before eventually losing out 2-0 to Fettes. Great effort girls! 👏

News coming in from Glasgow - our first XI boys hockey team have won the Aspire Cup!

They beat Trinity College 3-2 on penalties after a tense 1-1 draw.

Good luck to our 1st XI hockey teams as they prepare for the Senior Schools Cup Finals Day at Glasgow National Hockey Centre tomorrow!

The girls play Fettes in the Scottish Plate final (2.45pm), while the boys are up against Trinity Academy in the Aspire Cup final (10.45am)! 🏑

HSD trumpeters won the Brass Ensemble Class competition at the Arbroath Music Festival!

Performing as the Senior Trumpet Quartet, Aoife, Grace, Polly, and Tegan achieved a superb score of 90/100, earning them an honours diploma and the Instrumental Award Plate.

Our L3 pupils visited the National Museum of Scotland last week, where they got the chance to take part in an Egyptian workshop!
They looked at artefacts and foodstuffs from ancient Egypt, dressed up and participated in drama activities to mark the coronation of a new Pharaoh!

This year’s Innes Duffus Memorial Lecture takes place at Discovery Point on Thursday 21st March.

Congratulations to our first XI girls’ hockey team on reaching the final of the Scottish Schools Senior Plate!

The team saw off opponents Strathallan yesterday and will go on to play in the final against Fettes at Glasgow's National Hockey Centre on March 15.

Our pupils were delighted to host a visit from author
M. G. Leonard last week, who stopped by to tell us all about Feather (the newest instalment in her Twitchers series) and how she got into writing.

At the end of her talk, she took questions and signed copies of her newest book

Some of our F3 girls visited Monifieth High School to attend Girls Into Engineering and Science, an event by IOPScotland.

They got the chance to take part in various workshops promoting science and engineering as a career path for young women.

What a fantastic opportunity! 🚀

Our Piano Festival continued on Thursday evening with our Junior Years Recital!

Young pianists from L4 to L7 got the chance to play in front of their parents and peers, impressing with their hard work and musical skill.

Happy World Thinking Day! HSD pupils who are involved in the Guiding and Scouting movements have been wearing their uniforms to celebrate the day where they think about others across the world, and this year’s theme ‘Our world, our thriving future’.

Pupils at the High School of Dundee are getting ready to bring a classic musical tale to the stage this summer!

From 19th to 22nd June, Senior Years pupils will be performing Whistle Down the Wind at the Gardyne Theatre, Dundee.

While this Wednesday may be Valentine’s Day, there's something more significant we need to celebrate – Founders’ Day!

February 14 also marks the date on which the High School of Dundee was founded in 1239!

HSD string players attended the Royal Scottish National Orchestra’s (RSNO) National Schools Concert programme.

Using Maya Angelou’s poem ‘Still I Rise’, the show platformed the work of different composers to explore gender, race and religion through music.

Happy Birthday to the Bash Street Kids! Beano, we're very proud of our association with Class 2B, whose antics may have been inspired by our pupils playing in the playground! 🤩

Our pupils have been wearing red and pink today to raise money for the charity Breast Cancer Now.
Across the Nursery, Junior Years and Senior Years, our Valentines-themed fundraiser has raised almost £800 with pupils donating £1 each to wear casual clothes.
