Yesterday, we read 'Get Up, Stand Up' - a book about standing up for what's right. Today, we learned about Viola Desmond and how she helped change laws about racial segregation in Canada. 'She didn't just do it for herself. She did it for other people too,' explained a Year 2.

Pink Shirt Day is an annual observation that takes place on the last Wednesday of February. People wear pink shirts to signify the stand against bullying. This day started in Canada and is now observed on various dates around the world.
