It was a pleasure to meet with Ms. Ketty Lamaro the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Ministry of Education and Sports - Uganda. We're committed to working together to empower young people, especially girls, with the resources they need to build successful futures.
It was an honour to meet Ms. Mukami Kariuki, the country manager of World Bank, to explore opportunities for collaboration between UNFPA Uganda and World Bank. Working together is key to empowering women & girls in Uganda and around the world.
It was a pleasure meeting the Minister of State for Gender & Culture, Peace Regis Mutuuzo. We engaged in insightful discussions on how UNFPA Uganda & Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development can further empower women & girls to secure their rights and realize their potential in Uganda.
I had a fruitful discussion with the African Development Bank Group for Uganda, Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan. Looking forward to our partnership on advancing gender equality, youth empowerment & data generation.
It was an honour to meet the Ministry of Health's Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero and team. I appreciate the Ministry of Health- Uganda's role in improving maternal & neonatal health. Our discussions included the issue of high teenage pregnancy and the need for multi-sectoral & multi-stakeholder approaches.
Privileged to have met the Minister of Finance Ministry of Finance's Matia Kasaija. We had an enriching discussion on how UNFPA Uganda and Government of Uganda can prioritize investments in young people. Addressing population dynamics is key for sustainable development.

I was privileged to sign a transformative $3 million agreement from Iceland in Uganda on behalf of UNFPA Uganda. This initiative aims to tackle obstetric fistula. Over the next 3 years, we will work to bring impact for women and girls in Namayingo district. #ThankU 🇮🇸
Today, I was excited to meet ADC in Uganda 🇦🇹🇺🇬's Head of Office, @Dr_Katjak. We discussed the priorities for 2024 and how we can continue to positively and meaningfully impact the lives of women and girls faced with gender-based violence, especially justice for survivors.
