Born on this day in 1935: Brian Harris.
A winger who was transformed into an excellent wing-half. The Birkenhead man had over a decade as a Toffeeman & was a league champion in 1963 & a cup winner in 1966. Later at Cardiff City FC & Newport County AFC (photo taken at the latter).

May 15, 1985 - ITV’s closing credits departed from using the usual ‘Midweek Sports Special’ theme tune to end their broadcast, to instead using Everton’s ‘Here We Go’ FA Cup Final song as the credits rolled.

Everton FC Heritage Society Graeme We hired 2 coaches where I worked and filled both. Some of us met at our usual haunt, Streets near Kirklands at 5pm. David Johnson was in there and joined us for a chat. Then set off for the overnight trip. Fantastic time. A bonkers few days- v QPR, Rapid, then Wembley. My pics-

Last week we wrote to Everton to express our concerns and seek clarification for the benefit of our supporters.

Today's response from the club also gave an update on the takeover situation so we have issued the following statement to update everyone.

58 years ago, today, we had one of the most famous FA Cup finals. The Toffees came from behind to win 3-2. Winning goal scorer Derek Temple teamed up with Rob Sawyer to tell the story of that cup run:

Often 12th man in the Everton league-winning squad of 1938/39: Gordon Watson.
The stylish wing-half got a run of games late in the season. This great Blue became an EFC coach & held a few other positions until retirement in the late 1990s.
