Everton’s great goalkeeper, Billy Scott, was born on 17 May 1882. He made 289 appearances for the Toffees & won the FA Cup with them in 1906. See this link for the story of his grave restoration at Anfield Cemetery, led by Everton FC Heritage Society :

Born on this day in 1935: Brian Harris.
A winger who was transformed into an excellent wing-half. The Birkenhead man had over a decade as a Toffeeman & was a league champion in 1963 & a cup winner in 1966. Later at Cardiff City FC & Newport County AFC (photo taken at the latter).
What a day - as a 21 year old I thought it was going to be a regular thing - seeing my team win a European trophy with a fantastic squad & manager. Often 12th man in the Everton league-winning squad of 1938/39: Gordon Watson.
The stylish wing-half got a run of games late in the season. This great Blue became an EFC coach & held a few other positions until retirement in the late 1990s.
