Sally Beamish Errollyn Wallen Emma Harding Tarik O'Regan John Rutter Benbrick BBC Radio 3 BBC Sounds Fay Claire I was interested in Thea Musgrave telling me that when she had a rare block, Nadia Boulanger told her to write something every day, however bad (silence your inner critic). The other tip was to not finish something you knew how to finish so the next day you’d know how to start.
Emma Harding Tarik O'Regan John Rutter Benbrick Errollyn Wallen BBC Radio 3 BBC Sounds Fay Claire Errollyn Wallen : your thoughts really chimed with me - ‘Something always has to go to make room tor the music you need to write’ - and best of all:
‘Starting is what’s important.
Start by just diving in’. And yes - even starting with ‘a really bad idea’!

Fascinating how much struggle and pain is a common thread in these quests for - for want of a better word - beauty. Each set of instances is unique, and each essay was written without knowledge of the others; very powerful. Huge thanks to Fay Claire for her brilliant producing.💯
Yes! Do join us for our lovely varied programme 🤩
