This morning El Paso City Council proclaimed May 17, 1873 as the day the El Paso Police Department was established. Chief Pacillas, officers, Mayor Oscar Leeser and City Council members celebrated the El Paso Police Department’s 151st anniversary!

Over the weekend EPPD Metro police officers collaborated with the CoEP Capital Improvement, and UMC to bring a downtown bike safety event for kids.

This event was designed to provide kids of all ages with a fun and educational experience to learn about bike safety!

Thank you to all who participated in the 2024 El Paso Police Memorial. EPPD appreciates the community coming together to commemorate the bravery and heroism of its officers.

On this #NationalTraumaSurvivorsDay , we recognize the hardships trauma survivors have had to overcome & the inspiration they are for us all.

Every year, we host a blood drive in honor of our trauma survivors. Among some of our blood donors were members of EL PASO POLICE DEPT & McGruff!

Today, May 15th, is El Paso Police Officers Memorial Day. Let’s pay tribute to those who protect and serve w community and remember the 35 officers from EPPD who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

The El Paso Police Department attended Career Day at Whitaker Elementary School and Cielo Vista Elementary School. Officers gave presentations and spoke with children on being a law enforcement officer. They had plenty of fun and got to take a closer look at the police unit. 🚓

What a great weekend it was! EPPD participated in the Dia De Los Niños Dia De Los Libros event on Saturday where police officers and cadets met with children and people in the community. McGruff and EPFD Sparky also took many photos and interacted with the kiddos and families!
