Data Council was good fun, it's an odd mix of people though. There's a pretty technical contingent working on OSS and raving about datafusion, but then there are the data engineers working with sytems like airflow/dagster, and the analysts and scientists.
My personal highlights of Data Council in no particular order:
- less VCs this yr, only the strong survive🤘
- cybertruck “shuttle” to community parties 🚙
- dozens of 15 min chats with engineer-founders 🤓
- attendees coming up constantly and thanking us for the high quality
Joel Alexander just landed from Data Council and already shipped auto tracing for OpenAI's Assistant API. Lets Go! 🛳

At changhiskhan’s talk Data Council. I recall a conversation with christopher e moody a while back where he said something like “what if, instead of deploying models, we all just wrote vector DB queries”?
Cool to see how that worked out — it’s come full circle!
