Yes dear Danielle Nierenberg, Food Tank. Our global food system is currently too dependent on just a small number of major crops. A mere 15 crops provide 90% of our food energy intake.
This needs to change, as it is neither good for our health nor sustainable for our planet.
'Government regulation is the only way to push them to produce healthier food,' @MarionNestle said, 'but this too is an uphill battle when companies dedicate sizable resources to influencing food policy in Washington, D.C.' (via Jesse Newman, The Wall Street Journal).
