The best athletes in the world that I've seen use imagery to get in mental reps.

Short bouts of 15-20 seconds, seeing themselves succeed, execute a skill, or take a risk.

Spread out 3-5x a day.

Doesn't have to be complicated and gets the 'reps in'.

After surveying nearly a hundred high performers, they tend to perform best when:

-Felt supported
-Self-worth wasn't on the line
-Secure in who they are
-Pursuing out of joy
-Exploring what was possible instead of feeling forced to achieve a result

One thing missing in so many programs today is the development of leadership. Kids have a hard time leading because they’re used to having adults control everything. We have to give up some control for leadership to develop. It’s hard for many adults, but very necessary for kids!

Leaders are optimists. That doesn’t mean they ignore reality. It means they see the situation but lead with hope and belief that drives the team forward toward a better day.

Pessimism and negativity hold us back.
Optimism leads to better outcomes.

Leaders stir up hope.

Rest isn't laziness, it's strategic. It leads to growth.

Your body and mind need downtime to recharge and come back stronger.

Honor the power of a good pause.

Often, the highest achieving, most dedicated athletes I know have their Olympic medal in a sock drawer or their all-American awards in a box in the attic or an obscure room in the house.

Not always. But to me it’s a sign the awards and accolades are secondary to the journey.

One bad outcome will not derail your progress, but making poor choices again and again can.

Choose to stop the cycle of ruminating on your past and beating up on yourself. That does nothing except keep you exactly where you are.

Remember, you have no power over what you did or

The best workout is the one you consistently get in.

The best time to workout is whenever you can consistently do it.

Start there.

No need to glorify a type of workout or working out a time of day. What matters most is you get it in.

When we are alone, we judge hills to be steeper than if we are with a friend, according to research.

Being with others makes the difficult seem just a bit more manageable.

“We recruit really talented NBA players that are willing to not make it about themself. To be a part of a winning group and to go for all the championships,” Dan Hurley

Good players want a starring role on the team.

Great players want to star in the role the team needs.
