The Council has been effectively bankrupted by Birmingham Labour. They ignored warnings on equal pay for 7 years, they ignored warnings on oracle for 3 years. They put up Council Tax 77% since 2012. But here Labour waste time again trying to blame anyone else but themselves 👇

We are the only region in the country achieving our housing numbers & on track to deliver the homes we need✅

From the very beginning I knew we needed more homes, which is why I banged on Theresa May’s door to win the cash we needed to kickstart our housebuilding revolution🏡

Pete was a tenacious & feared journalist, and a master at holding those in power to account.

But more importantly he was a thoroughly good man, who I was proud to work with.

The region has lost one of our best, and my thoughts are with his wife and children.

Such sad news to hear of the passing of Peter Madeley. Pete was not only a brilliant journalist, but he was a thoroughly sound chap. I had a lot of time for him.
Rest in peace.
