'Soldiers of the Soil’ was a national initiative run by the Canadian Food Board during the First World War. It encouraged adolescent boys to volunteer for farm service. The Canada Food Board created this lapel badge to recognize the ‘Soldiers of the Soil’. #FirstWorldWar
