Now, this week, the REC has suggested we reduce the proposed revenue forecast by 18 million dollars for this fiscal year and 70 million dollars for next fiscal year-and those numbers could be reduced even further. 2/3

Up until now, the Governor has provided a few talking points but no detailed plans to address the billion-dollar shortfall. The governor has agreed to provide a detailed draft of the bill and the fiscal notes attached so we can see the impact on families and businesses in La.

I, along with a group of legislators, met with Governor Edwards this afternoon. We were told that on January 19, he intends to present his budget and plan to address the shortfall to a joint legislative committee.
