CWDA is strongly opposed to the $445 million in cuts proposed to the county human services workforce across CalWORKs, child welfare, and Adult Protective Services in the May Revision. These cuts would eliminate funding for 2,100 essential county human services workers statewide.

The May Revise proposes significant cuts to child welfare programs serving vulnerable youth and families. The elimination of these programs will result in increased costs in other systems including housing, criminal justice, health, and behavioral health. #cabudget

Under the governor's proposed May budget revision, families experiencing crises or barriers will lose access to intensive case management and services through the Family Stabilization program. CWDA strongly opposes this and other CalWORKS cuts. #cabudget
