David French: 'Enough. It’s time to apply the plain language of the Constitution to Trump’s actions and remove him from the ballot — without fear of the consequences. Republics are not maintained by cowardice.'

Reminder that after January 6th, Mitch McConnell said that although he was voting against Trump's impeachment, the proper place for Trump to face accountability was in the courts.

14th Amendment lawsuits are part of that accountability. heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/december-19-…

Trump took in at least $7.8 million from foreign governments as president.

AT LEAST.

That's outrageous, and as we've said from day one of his presidency, it's a clear violation of the Constitution's Emoluments Clauses.

NEW: Election deniers and talking heads have spent three years trying to rewrite the history of the January 6th insurrection.

The Constitution applies to all of us.

Including Donald Trump.

That's why we're working to enforce his disqualification under the 14th Amendment: because the rule of law means we're all subject to the Constitution. Even former presidents.

Is now a good time to point out that as president, Trump made at least $9.6 million just from the Middle East?

Voters had the chance to decide whether they wanted Trump as president in 2020. He lost, then attacked the democratic system because he didn't like the result of the election.

The framers of the 14th Amendment knew that anyone who'd done that couldn't be in power again.

BREAKING: We just filed our response to Donald Trump's appeal of his loss in our 14th Amendment lawsuit.

The facts and the law are clear. The Supreme Court of Colorado came to the right conclusion in favor of our clients, and the U.S. Supreme Court must now uphold it.

'If you think about it, of all of the forms of disqualification that we have, the one that disqualifies people for engaging in insurrection is the most democratic because it’s the one where people choose themselves to be disqualified.'

None of the at least 8 people who were barred from holding office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment were criminally charged with insurrection.

Donald Trump's ineligibility for the ballot is *not* unprecedented.

George Santos has missed deadlines to report information about his finances not once, not twice, but FOUR times.

And by the way, that could come with hefty fines. citizensforethics.org/reports-invest…
