Last week Y9 met with over 40 employers from industries as diverse as law, finance, real estate , construction, visual effects, event management, sport, media, healthcare & retail. Questions flew & eyes opened to all the great career opportunities available to our young people.

Everyday is book day at Burntwood! Our students are fortunate to have access to this purpose built learning space. With 12,000 titles there is something for everyone! If that was not enough, they also have access to an online catalogue of 1,300 titles. So many books - We Love it!

On Sunday, our KS3 Lacrosse Team represented the school in their first ever match at the Spencer Tournament. They did incredibly well, scoring some fantastic goals whilst exhibiting super teamwork & sportsmanship. A huge well done to the pupils involved & coach Ms Macpherson!

Our Year 7 Bertha Earth group had a fine afternoon exploring and connecting with nature in our local area. As they explored Springfield Park they collected items which told the story of their afternoon - told beautifully here on our very own journey stick! #nature #GetOutside

Year 7 geography students enjoyed a great practical lesson today whilst studying their current topic ‘Weather & Climate’. Using a series of instruments & tools they measured different weather conditions such as rainfall, cloud cover & temperature. 🤞that thermometer rises soon!

Term ended on a high today with elves delivering hand made cards across the school. The works of art were a thank you from the Year 10 students to teachers, staff & friends for all their help & support this year. What a lovely idea and way to end the year. Happy Holidays All!

Yesterday Y8 students took part in a ‘Matilda the Musical’ workshop, which discussed how the show was devised & put together. After, they got to see the live performance! Students left feeling very excited to study ‘Matilda’ as part of their PAE lessons after the winter break.
