Today I was on gallery at Cliffe Castle Museum Bradford Museums & Galleries & a visitor stopped me to say they loved how eclectic it is. Over their shoulder I could see 19th century dresses displayed opposite Japanese armour & kimonos so had to agree wholeheartedly. #MuseumCurator

It's going to be a busy week, but we can't wait.

Please be aware that the cafe at Cartwright Hall will be closed on the 27th and 28th May, but that there will be an indoor space to eat picnics available if the weather doesn't allow for outdoor ones...

As part of Mindful May we were delighted to host Dr Mayuri at Cartwright Hall, leading an afternoon of advice on Ayurvedic practice such as wellbeing, routines and breathing. We also did gentle stretching in a chair-based Yoga session Thank you Dr Mayuri !

Did you know today is #WorldBeeDay ? We love watching the bees in the observation hive @ #CliffeCastle - there's something very soothing about the hum! You can also learn more about bees in a display near by!

Did you guess what you could make yesterday?
The riddleboard, ladle, bakestone (or bakstone) & knife were used to make Yorkshire oatcakes. This illustration from George Walker’s ‘Costume of Yorkshire’ 1812 shows them being made. Spot them drying above the fire!

This week's theme for the #OnlineArtExchange by Art UK is Egypt to highlight 'Creatures of the Nile @victoriagallery (curated by Garstang Museum). We chose these from Crystal Palace Park, Bromley Bromley Council based on ones in the Louvre.

Behind the scenes, our collections curators are auditing our collection. Last week they were focussing on kitchen-ware. They came across a box of kitchen equipment used to make a particular Yorkshire food. Can you guess what from the photo of the objects? #Yorkshirefood
