At this morning's International Workers' Memorial Day I laid a wreath on behalf of Victorian Government to mourn those Victorians who have lost their lives in the past year.
Today reminds us of the dangers workers face, and the importance of strong OHS regulations, enforcement and unions.
Thank you Nick Dyrenfurth שמואל בן אברהם and Frank Bongiorno for the privilege of launching your new book.
Not only a great read, but a reminder we must fight for Labor values of equality, justice and prosperity.
Thank you rank-and-file members for coming. Our party’s success is owed much to you.
Thank you to the thousands of Victorians who walked in solidarity to say #EnoughIsEnough .
Violence against women & family violence is preventable.
And it is a crisis of men’s violence against women.
We’ve made significant improvements since Royal Commission, and will continue.
From a politician, thank you Dr Jenna Price
❌20,000 men breached violence and non-violence orders last year (4 times the number of women breaches);
❌50% increase in sexual assault and related offences;
❌20% increase in acts intended by men to cause injury.
#EnoughIsEnough #NoMore
This will be triggering for many Victorians tonight.
In 2016 I dedicated my contribution on our family violence legislative reforms in memory of Nikki Francis-Coslovich.
Journalists Andrea Hamblin Katie Bice Neil Mitchell covered case.
Lost for words.
