It is worth watching this CNN video from the moment Emory Econ Professor Caroline Fohlin came across the violent arrest of a protester on campus and asked the police, with shock, 'What are you doing?' That's all that prompted an officer to hurl her to the ground and handcuff her.

MESA and CAF view with alarm the recent attempts to intimidate, repress, and criminalize campus protests.

Today in The Nation we have a piece by Lujayn, a 14-year-old girl in Gaza, that has floored me every time I've read it. It's about what happened when an Israeli bulldozer came to destroy the house she was staying in, and you must, must, must read it. thenation.com/article/world/…

Columbia update:
– Admin has agreed to 48-hour extension of negotiations
– School will not call NYPD or National Guard to sweep
– Students will take down a number of tents & ensure protest is FDNY-safe (terms they offered) + safe from harassment (already part of their guidelines)

Hundreds of men, women, children, tortured, mutilated, murdered, and buried in mass graves at Shifa & Nasser hospitals in just the latest atrocities in Israel’s in . But if we protest this, we are “antisemites.” No. We will not be silenced or intimidated.
