The 'Kirrie Rifflers' met with Rebecca from BuglifeScotland for a start of season refresher session. The Kirrie Rifflers are part of the national #GuardiansOfOurRivers citizen science network,Riverfly Partnership . They carry out regular checks on water invertebrates (insects).

Over the last few months we've had pupils from WebstersHigh visiting us on Tuesdays to help with the Community Garden.

Supported by their Rural Skills teacher, Mr Milton, they have continued learning about climate-friendly food growing with nature in mind. 🐝

This week at Northmuir Primary the children planted up a huge tractor tyre with wild flower seed and planted flowers in a border. We also planted leeks outside and beetroot inside the polytunnel. And as always there was plenty watering to do.

Still one of my favourite trips! Around 110 pupils from Northmuir Primary took part in RHETAngusCI Estate Day on Kinnordy Estate. The children had a fantastic day learning about farming, forestry, gamekeeping, bee keeping and life in the pond. #OutdoorLearning

A fantastic day of learning about propagation at Little Trochry Farm near Dunkeld. With thanks to the Landworkers' Alliance peer to peer scheme.

Our birding enthusiasts were up with the birds last Saturday morning to take a walk through the Den to enjoy the dawn chorus. Afterwards, some of our Action for Nature volunteers put up nesting boxes, nearby the Kirriemuir Scout Hut, which had been made recently by the Scouts.

Angus Climate Hub are gathering stories from community members about recent storm events, with the aim to create a community record.

This project will help to increase community resilience and adaptation against future climate change impacts.

Northmuir Primary School were very kindly donated lots of tomato, pepper, physalis and tomatillo plants which was very much appreciated. The P7's planted them once i had put in the string supports. And a lovely new flower border was created.
