We have an Alert Day posted for Monday for the potential for some strong to severe storm moving through the Valley. Main concerns with these waves of rain/storms will be some isolated pockets of gusty winds and heavy rainfall amounts. -AW

This work week we transition into an unsettled weather pattern; Monday and Tuesday expect a couple waves of rain and storms to move into the Valley bringing anywhere between 1 to 3 inches of rain over the next three days. - AW

The Valley has a beautiful Mother's Day ahead with a mix of sun and clouds and mild temperatures. The unsettled weather returns early Monday morning and will move through in waves, so have the rain gear handy at any point during the day.

Mother's Day Forecast: Expect a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day with temperatures a little warmer than on Saturday reaching the upper-70s and in most spots the low-80s. A stray showers can't be ruled out but overall expect dry conditions throughout the Valley. - AW

Yesterday the Valley got to see the northern lights, hopefully tonight will bring another opportunity to view them too! Regardless, this evening expect clear skies. Overnight expect mostly clear skies with temperatures in the mid- to upper-50s waking up Sunday morning.

The sunshine and dry weather returns for Mother's Day Weekend in the Valley. We will be waking up in the mid 50s tomorrow morning; howevere, temperatures will be on the more mild side later in the day and it won't feel too muggy either. - Allie Ann

UPDATE 1:55 PM ET : Here's the updated counties under a Tornado Watch for today until 5PM/4PM CT which includes almost all of WTVM area. All of the concerns remain the same. This is still more of a wind and hail threat, but an isolated tornado or two is still possible.

NEW: Tornado Watch for Troup, Meriwether and Upson Counties until 1 PM ET as our first round of storms is moving through north Alabama. They could bring some severe weather around late morning or midday. We also need to watch another wave of storms early Friday morning.
