WeatherWatch.co.nz greg jackson Jamie Gurney 🇬🇧🇳🇿 Sam Sachdeva Troy Baisden 🌏 💦 🌱🌻 I’ve been sitting on the Intercity bus to Dunedin thinking it’s always a nor’wester when I’m on the bus. Biased sample! I never fly when I see a nor’wester coming!

Premier Inn this is a joke! I have been staying in the Ruislip hotel for 3 weeks and there’s been no wifi for more than 2 weeks. Disgraceful when you’re trying to work and talk to family overseas. Automated email says will respond in 30 days. Kiwis, don’t ever stay here
RNZ News RNZ Mark Peart greg jackson Sam Sachdeva RNZ really needs to do something about the number of typos on its website - LPrime? Repal?
WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison MetService greg jackson “would you like some clouds today?”
“Yes please, I’ll have 18,000 of the same one” holy mackerel!
WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison Jamie Gurney 🇬🇧🇳🇿 greg jackson MetService Dunedin looking mighty fine this afternoon, just a bit of a cool west to sou’west wind. See ya next time
RNZ News @rnz WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison greg jackson Jamie Gurney 🇬🇧🇳🇿 really sorry RNZ but following on from the crepuscular rays to illustrate a waterspout, someone has dredged up this image of some kind of water gauge to illustrate a quake…
WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison MetService greg jackson RNZ really surprised this photo of crepuscular rays is still being used to illustrate a story about a waterspout. Not sure of the relevance
MetService @ukeq Chris Page - Weatherman WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison Met Office MetDesk greg jackson not quite the nacreous clouds they’ve had over the UK lately but some lovely iridescence in this high altocu/cirrocu
MetService WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison greg jackson John Law Jamie Gurney 🇬🇧🇳🇿 some interesting high-level instability and castellanus clouds over coastal Canterbury now - foreseeing thunderstorms tomorrow perhaps?
MetService WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison greg jackson Jamie Gurney 🇬🇧🇳🇿 an insanely hot night in Dunedin - hovering in the mid-20s, and 25deg at Dunedin Airport at 2am local time. Must be a record or close to it surely?
WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison greg jackson Andrew Frame RNZ I think the word is “dampener”? Damper is some kind of cake or biscuit mix
MetService James Morrison WeatherWatch.co.nz greg jackson the back of the frontal cloud has just cleared Westport - looking north
MetService WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison greg jackson some unusually vigorous convection across Canterbury for so early in the day
MetService WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison greg jackson this is as much warning as was possible to give of tropical cyclones in 1969. Think how lucky we are now
MetService WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison greg jackson what’s this curious swirl/koru of cloud south of Dunedin?
WeatherWatch.co.nz James Morrison greg jackson NIWA Weather MetService no signs yet of any new “records” being set in Chch so far today..
nzherald Shayne Currie MetService James Morrison WeatherWatch.co.nz I find this kind of headline really alarmist. It’s a nasty storm but it is NOT Lola, though 1 of the ingredients of it is. This dilutes the power of real warnings
WeatherWatch.co.nz MetService James Morrison RNZ sorry, who’s saying this low is the tail-end of Cyclone Lola? Can’t see that quote anywhere
