2nd graders Sartori Elementary are still buzzing about bugs! Today they released the butterflies they raised & observed. So much learning, asking questions, and doing research from observing this process!
2nd graders Sartori Elementary will meet their classroom visitors next week to kick off the ELA/Science integrated unit on insects!
Butterfly larvae are in transit. Crickets, meal worms, & Madagascar Hissing Cockroaches got settled in today.
3rd graders Sartori Elementary are learning about noncontact forces. Recently, students made & compared various configurations on magnet toys, measured gap size & explained why gap sizes would vary. Up next: Use this conclusion to figure out configuration to launch top magnet highest!
5th graders Sartori Elementary started a conservation of matter unit this week! They halved fractions & measured ingredients to make 1/2 recipe. They weighed each muffin before & after baking.
After baking, Muffins increased in volume but decreased in mass! How/why does that happen?
4th graders Sartori Elementary kicked off their study of local salmon populations & habitat health by π π π£ about 2 videos & generating questions. Tomorrow they do part 1 of Environmental Science Center Salmon Heroes program w/mathematical modeling while learning about life cycle stages!
Enjoying some Cheez-its and had to play with my food first :)
What math do you see? What math questions could you ask and answer by manipulating 36 cheez-its on a 6' folded napkin?
